Fashion Stars Europe

New York Fashion week is like a sorority of well known bloggers with the smattering of well dressed actors thrown in for fun.  I’m not trashing the scene in NY, but when I want to really find fashion inspiration, I look to Europe’s Fashion weeks.

The Russian invasion is still in full force.  These last few weeks have seen some amazing outfits from my favorites.  Here are some highlights. Here’s petite Miroslava in an amazing Burberry trench that is beautifully embellished around the collar.  I love the chartreuse tone of the coat and the playful tribal embellishment.  Mira does the coat right by pairing it with simple skinny jeans and her signature platform heels in oxblood that picks up on the colors from the trench perfectly.

Ulyana is always perfection, but when I saw her in this dress, I had to catch my breath.  I love the frilly tiers of the skirt and how she wore the full skirt with a streamlined top.  Even her hat goes with the silhouette of her outfit.  Just beautiful.  Oh, and see Waldo in the background?  That cracked me up.

Giovanna Battaglia is the stunning editor from Luomo Vogue.  She just screams classic Italian beauty.  Gorgeous dark hair, olive skin and big brown eyes.  Love her look.  This simple black dress is paired with a unique stand out collar, but the best part of her outfit are her boots.I’m dying.  I’m sure I would need to sell my car to afford these, but can you blame me?  Love the cut out leather detail.  What you don’t see is that the back half of the shaft is solid leather, which makes these boots even sexier.

Christine Centenera is the fashion editor at Harper’s Bazaar in Australia and has a much more edgy style, which I love.  Her love of Balmain, black, leather, studs and heels make her my fashion soul sister.  I will have to do another blog just dedicated to her amazing clothes.  Here you see how she doesn’t shy away from different pairings.  The way she wore a simple tee shirt under that bustier, is genius.  And I want this jacket below, like now.Fall is here, so go out and find your inspiration to punch up your wardrobe.  You don’t need to buy the same designer items you see on these fashionistas, but it is so easy to find inspiration of shapes, colors, or combinations that you can translate into your own outfits.  Happy Monday!

Style Crush on Miroslava Duma

In case you missed the article in the New York Times last week, The Czarinas Are Back, featured some of the hottest Russian fashionistas to hit the scene. I’ve already blogged about one of my favorites, Ulyana Sergeenko, but another one of my favorites is the petite Miroslava Duma, who is almost never seen without a statement necklace. I totally relate to her love of platform shoes, since we both barely stand over 5 feet without them. Here are some photos of Mira that I love, and check out the NYT article for more background and a slideshow of the other lovely Russian ladies.

I’m obsessing over the striped Tommy Hilfiger sweater seen in the second picture, so if you see it for sale anywhere, please let me know. Have a great weekend and stay cool people!
